About the Association

Newry Maritime Association is a not for profit community interest organisation. Our aim is to help revitalise the Newry Canal and its associated waterways and surroundings as usable public space.

Each year we deliver a busy programme of events reflecting on the people and moments that shaped our maritime past: civic tributes, commemorative plaques, talks and publications about the port, the canal and Carlingford Lough.

We are supported by people with a wide range of skills who give their help voluntarily, and by our Corporate Members. Without their support we could not deliver our annual schedule of events.

Every Newry Maritime Association event is cross community and inclusive. Everyone is welcome.
